Botnets greatly affecting the growth of fraud in PPC systems

Experts have published statistics from PPC systems where more than 10% of ad clicks could have been fraudulent and that the largest share of clicks is attributed to system-designated botnets. PPC advertisements represent more than 50% of total marketing expenses on the Internet and in gross figures, more than 6 billion dollars were reportedly spent in the first half of this year. In going with these numbers, about five hundred million dollars were put into advertisements without the advertiser actually offering their services or products to potential customers. It should be noted that most large companies that advertise in PPC systems use various tools to detect fraud and try to defend themselves in various ways. For that reason we are dealing with rough estimates.
